On to Lienz

Tuesday was a blue bird day, while it would have been a great day for skiing, it was also a good day to take in the scenery as we travel by bus to our next destination, the town of Lienz. The Alps are absolutely breathtaking along the way.

Lienz is located in the center of East Tirol, at the foot of the Lienz Dolomites, at the intersection of the Isel and Drau rivers. The Isel river is last glacier fed river in Austria.

Due to the poor skiing conditions we decided to spend Wednesday walking around the town . As you can see there is little snow except what is on the ski slopes. We were hoping to maybe take a ride on the toboggan track, but it was not running.

Fortunately we have a lovely pool on the top floor of our hotel, so we spent the remainder of the afternoon  relaxing by the pool, looking out over the town and the surrounding mountains,  Notice the handsome guy in the bathrobe 😉.
